Altamira Summer Arts Celebrates Toronto
with Free Performances by Canada's Leading Arts Companies

TORONTO -Altamira Summer Arts - nine evenings of spectacular entertainment, free, at Habourfront Centre. Altamira Investment Services, in concert with the Canadian Opera Company, The National Ballet of Canada and members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, is proud to offer this gift to Toronto.

Excerpts from The Barber of Seville and The Sleeping Beauty, The Marriage of Figaro and Orpheus in the Underworld are all part of this celebration of summer and the arts.

"When I was young, I was introduced to the joy of the performing arts during the free summer performances staged at Ontario Place. We are delighted to help bring these arts to a new generation of audiences. By partnering with Canada's leading arts organizations, we hope to enhance Toronto's cultural life," said Greg A. Reed, President and CEO of Altamira Investment Services.

"A recent poll conducted by Ipsos-Reid showed that 93% of Canadians believe that arts activities contribute to the vitality of their communities. We do too, which is why we are pleased that this year Altamira Summer Arts will include members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra as well as showcasing the Canadian Opera Company, with whom the program was founded ten years ago, and The National Ballet of Canada whose artists joined us last year." Reed continued.

All nine performances take place at Harbourfront Centre's Concert Stage, start at 8:00 pm and are free to the public.
